Because without the best equipment, it would be almost impossible to prepare two espresso’s, two milky coffees and two plant-based coffees in 10 minutes during The Espresso Blend-round and push the boundaries of filter coffee during new The Pour Over-round. The eighteen renowned coffee roasters from all over Europe can count on these giants.
THE MACHINE
The Roast Masters™ participants will perform their tricks on the Slayer Steam LP. Founded in 2007, the espresso machine brand Slayer created the three-piece Steam Box Set especially for baristas. Handcrafted in Seattle, Slayer uses patented methods such as needle valve technology. With two settings per group, advanced volumetrics, classic pump-controlled extraction, a very spacious work surface and not to mention a sleek, polished stainless steel design, it's no surprise that the Steam LP is known as the ‘dream machine’.
THE COFFEE
For the Espresso Blend discipline, the roasters bring their own coffee, but for the Single Origin round, all roasters receive 5 kg of the same green coffee one month before the competition. This year's competition coffee is provided by Trabocca, our brand new coffee partner. A washed Guji-1 coffee from the Suke Quto Farm in Ethiopia, Trabocca describes the coffee as "complex, elegant, citric, floral and exceptionally sweet."
FILTER

BATCHBREW
